"The JVN-10F 'Fire Javelin' packs four medium lasers on a 30-ton chassis. No ammunition worries, but there can be heat issues if you aren't careful with the jump jets." - Yang Virtanen
The Fire Javelin JVN-10F is a Light-class 'Mech in Battletech.
Description
The JVN-10F is armed with four Medium Lasers. It's a functional scouting 'mech, but shines as mobile reinforcement unit because it can provide sustained fire without ammo limitations.
Loadouts
- Ranged Harasser: Strip out two Medium Lasers, two Heat Sinks and one ton of armor, replacing them with a Large Laser. In this configuration it still sinks 12 points less heat than an alpha strike, but sinks equal to "average" jump heat plus the Large Laser only. Use this by dancing around behind your other mechs taking pot shots with the large, while looking for safe opportunities to run in and deliver a 90 point mule kick.
Strategy
- The Javelin 10F is quite similar in function to the Jenner, but has slightly more available tonnage and 2 support hardpoints, at the expense of movement speed and the lone missile hardpoint.
