UrbanMech UM-R60 is a Light-class 'Mech in Battletech.

Description[ | ]

The UrbanMech R60 was designed for exactly what the name implies: combat in dense urban areas. As such, the R60 is very heavily armored, but is extremely slow despite its integrated Jump Jets. Armed with a Small Laser and an AC/10, the R60 is a deadly opponent against similarly-sized 'Mechs - if it can get close enough to fight them.

Loadouts[ | ]

  • Remove the AC/10 + Ammo, and 1 Jump Jet to make room for 1 x AC/20 + 1 ton of ammunition. You can cut Jump Jets completely and strip some armor to make room for another ton of ammunition, but with the Urbie's already low armor, it would not be ideal.
  • This is probably the only mech where 2 x AC/2's would be better than a single AC/5, due to the tonnage restriction. 2 x AC/2 w/ 1 ton of ammunition + 2 x Medium Lasers would give the most available Alpha-strike damage. Cutting the last Jump Jet can be done in favor of 1 Small Laser.

  • Don't let the stubby 'Urbie' fool you - it may look like a walking trash can, but it can mount heavy armor and a grown-up-sized Autocannon. R60s aren't known for their speed, but they are very useful if you can draw the enemy into their firing range.
